To encourage new product development in the pasta market by rewarding those who are striving to develop the market through innovation and recipe development.

This category is open to any product launched within the 12-month qualifying period of 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2017 and which is still on sale at the time of judging. Products short-listed for this award were presented to a panel of judges for sampling. This award is for the best product and not a range.

Two separate awards will be presented within this category and the shortlists are as follows:

Best new retail pasta product

  • Ugu - Thrive - gluten free chickpea fusilli
  • Dell'Ugo - Goat's cheese and beetroot fiorelli with mint butter
  • Giovanni Rana UK - Asda Extra Special butternut and sage girasole

Best new foodservice pasta product

  • GCL Food Ingredients - Spinach, ricotta and lemon girasole
  • La Tua Pasta - Tortelloni, crayfish and prawns
  • Pasta and Pasta - Pumpkin gnocchi filled with gorgonzola
  • Hilcona AG - Rondelli Brasata con Merlot del Ticino
  • Surgital - Amichetti
